GW-Donation-Check

GreenWood leadership recently presented a special project team donation check to EDCI (East Durham Children’s Initiative) in Durham, North Carolina.  The gesture was a collaborative effort between GreenWood’s project site employees and company leadership personnel who all contributed to this non-profit group.  GreenWood’s leadership members matched the site employees’ contribution to benefit EDCI.

More than 40 partner organizations and hundreds of community members work collaboratively toward the goal of helping EDCI kids graduate from high school and be prepared for college or careers through early childhood interventions, parent and family support, after school and summer programs, health and nutrition services, and community outreach.  GreenWood is pleased to participate in this worthy program as a financial support contributor.

Affinity-Workshop

Several members of Team GreenWood attended the Affinity Risk Control Workshop held in Atlanta, Georgia. The workshop provided an informative format with a focus on claims and risk control issues. This is one of the ways we learn how to improve our already strong safety and claims management processes.

It was also a time for all attendees to network and share safety and risk management best practices.  GreenWood was represented by 13 members from several project sites and the home office.

Kevin Crittendon, Director of Continuous Improvement, recently presented a webinar for the Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP). Entitled “Organizing and Understanding Data for Sound Asset Management”, the webinar focused on showing the maintenance professional how to obtain, organize and understand data for decisions related to the management of facilities and operational assets.

The focus was on using a common desktop tool (MS Excel) to organize and understand CMMS data in a manner that leads to specific improvement actions. Crittendon used basic data charts to illustrate “where are we towards our objectives” and “what should we focus on for maximum impact”. The MS Excel elements presented included calculated fields, charts, pivot tables and text to columns.
