The team at GreenWood’s home office recently completed a CPR and First Aid training course led by Greenville Health & Safety. The course covered the key aspects of CPR with hands-on instruction along with mock scenarios that taught proper first aid applications so that employees know how to respond and care for medical emergencies at work. GreenWood personnel also experienced instructor-led training for automated external defibrillator (AED) usage. This type of training is conducted as part of GreenWood’s “Always Aware” safety program which emphasizes the health, safety, and well-being of all employees at the job site, office, or at home. At GreenWood, we believe that employees who think and act safely…are safe!

GreenWood recently earned the McGriff Workplace Safety Excellence Award for achieving excellence in safety performance throughout the company. Only companies who achieve outstanding overall safety performance based on workers’ compensation policy loss ratio, workers’ compensation experience modification (EMR), and BLS/DART/OSHA recordable incident rate are eligible for this recognition. This marks the 14th consecutive year that GreenWood has received this award – an accomplishment no other company has achieved.

Mona Lopez recently joined GreenWood’s home office accounting team in Greenville, South Carolina where she is responsible for processing the weekly payroll, daily cash management, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. She also handles client billings according to established schedules. Mona brings an extensive background within the financial field that spans accounting workflows for accounts payable, contract labor payment, financial statement preparation, budgeting and cash controls. She has spent the past 25 years in various financial roles in numerous market sectors since earning her Bachelor of Arts degree.

GreenWood Earns R Stamp Recertification

GreenWood has completed a recertification for The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI) R symbol stamp for the repair and/or alteration of boilers, pressure vessels, and other pressure-retaining items. With this certification, only qualified and certified fabricators will perform alterations and repairs. The R stamp is available only to companies who have successfully completed rigorous weld joint testing and whose QC system covers repairs according to established guidelines. We are proud to have the R stamp certification and affiliation with the NBBI as an ongoing credential of our team’s capabilities.

Our project at Syensqo in Augusta, Georgia recently celebrated 1.5 million safe work hours without a lost time event. What a great accomplishment for this team! GreenWood provides supplemental maintenance, turnarounds, operations support, and capital construction services for this specialty polymers plant. The prevention of incidents, injuries, and illnesses is the hallmark standard for GreenWood’s “Always Aware” safety program. Celebrating these accomplishments recognizes the hard work and dedicated focus our team puts on safety every day.

Ashlyn Vickers recently joined GreenWood as Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator for the GreenWood home office. In this role, Ashlyn is responsible for administering various environmental and safety programs, and initiatives in the workplace to ensure the health and safety of GreenWood employees at project locations across the United States. These responsibilities include the administration of the workers’ compensation program to include effective medical case management, reporting, root cause investigations, record maintenance and follow-up. Additionally, Ashlyn ensures compliance with applicable local, state, and federal health and safety regulations for employees, staff, and customers.

In previous career positions, Ashlyn held responsibilities in safety, quality control, and manufacturing. She is a graduate of Montreat College where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and holds several OSHA verified certifications. Welcome to GreenWood, Ashlyn!

GreenWood is proud to be recipient of the EcoVadis sustainability bronze medal and certificate. EcoVadis is the world’s largest provider of business sustainability ratings where they assess companies on their environmental, social, and ethical performance. To qualify for this recognition, GreenWood successfully completed the EcoVadis assessment process that scores companies on 21 sustainability criteria. The Bronze Medal places GreenWood within the top 50% of all assessed companies. Our dedicated project teams work tirelessly every day to perform their work well and this bronze medal is a reflection of their accomplishments.

GreenWood attended the annual National Safety Council (NSC) congress and expo in New Orleans, LA where Affinity Insurance provided several risk control workshops for attendees. The event was structured with seminars, workshops and sessions centered on creating a safe work place through innovative methods, emerging trends, and safety technology solutions. As with all safety conferences and workshops, we apply newly gained knowledge to hone our “Always Aware” safety program that keeps us safe at all times. Delivering industrial plant maintenance services safely is our number one priority in all of our work.

The South Carolina Manufacturing Conference & Exposition held their annual event in Greenville, South Carolina and GreenWood participated as an exhibitor highlighting the company’s industrial plant maintenance and facility solutions. This marks the third straight year that GreenWood had a presence at this state-wide event which is sponsored by the South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Program (SCMEP), SC Council on Competitiveness, SC Biz News, and Prisma Health.

Attendees represented a variety of manufacturing companies based in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. Manufacturing professionals from across the Southeast discussed the latest manufacturing trends and topics, innovations, and even economic challenges in an environment designed for networking and group discussions. Several discussions at the GreenWood exhibit centered on outsourced maintenance services, production and operations support solutions, and industrial construction services.

The event also included an awards luncheon recognizing the top manufacturer’s in South Carolina and a women-led panel of company leaders who discussed manufacturing industry-related issues through a woman’s lens, such as overcoming challenges, career advancement, mentorship, digital transition, technology and upskilling. The conference offered numerous sessions on Industry 4.0 technologies, aerospace, logistics, supply chain, workforce, and industry economic forecasts.

GreenWood Represents at SMRP

GreenWood attended the 31st annual SMRP conference recently held in Orlando, Florida for several days of education, networking, innovation and more. This premier event brought together over 1,200 maintenance, reliability and physical asset management professionals from more than 20 countries. There were over 200 hours of education sessions presented by experts across an array of industries. Tracks included manufacturing process reliability, equipment reliability, organization and leadership, work management, emerging technologies, and workshops. GreenWood proudly supports SMRP which is a not-for-profit professional society formed by practitioners to advance the maintenance, reliability and physical asset management profession.
